I was privileged to be invited to the biggest launch party of the year in terms of cars. The VVIP event was held by Daytona on Thursday 26 November 2015.

The 7 wonders launch consisted of 7 bespoke vehicle’s, The all new BMW 7 series, The BMW M4 GTS, The Rolls Royce Dawn,The Aston Martin DB9 GT, The Aston Martin GT12, The McLaren 650s sprint and the menacing McLaren 675LT. Without doubt the 676LT was my favourite.

From the stunning Top Billing presenter, JeannieD to the low slung 675LT, the event was great!

BMW 7 Series

The all new BMW 7 Series allows you to travel in luxury with leading innovations. You are first greeted by a welcome light carpet, next a very comfortable executive lounge with gesture control and BMW touch command. With carbon core and eDrive the 7 series is the ultimate eco-friendly saloon. The laserlight technology and ambient light allows the driver to concentrate and lets him see more of the road. And the cool panorama glass roof sky lounge gives the ultimate experience while in your luxurious state. After you use the remote control parking technology to park your +- R1.2 million luxurious car you see whats happening with your 7 Series on its cool BMW display key.

Dont mistaken its comfort for its speed. It has 195kw and has a topseed of 250km/h (730d). Thats really impressive since it weighs roughly around 2000kg.

BMW M4 GTS

The M4 GTS is an absolute stunner. From the carbon components to the 368kw engine, the car is a monster. The 368kw engine does a top speed of 305km/h and 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds making it quicker than the 1st generation McLaren MP4 12c and Ferrari 458 Italia.

The stunning adjustable aluminum base-carbon rear wing and orange lipped mags go great with the matte finished M4 GTS with exclusive carbon components which aide perfectly balanced weight distribution and aerodynamics with adjustable downforce. The interior is covered with the most sunning material to be found, alcantara with contrast stitching in Dark Grey, as does the handbrake lever.

Rolls Royce Dawn

The Rolls-Royce Dawn is a luxurious 4 seater convertible. I love the stunning configration of the Dawn that was displayed at the launch, dark blue with a bright orange interior.cRolls Royce has said that 70% of its body panels are new, compared to the Wraith. Oh, and this lounge on wheels has 21-inch polished wheels.

The direct-injection twin-turbo 6.6-litre V12 engine has power of 420kw and 780nm of torque. The car has a limited top speed of 250 km/h and weighs 2560kg. The speed its capabale of with this weight is insane. Accelaration from 0-100 km/h occurs 4.9 seconds. The fuel consumption is 14.2 litre / 100 km.

Aston Martin DB9 GT

The DB9 GT is the most elegant and stylish from every Aston Martin I’ve seen. Featuring subtle new touches to highlight its famously seductive styling, the DB9 GT is extremely magnificent from its unique styling to its power.

The DB9 GT features a rear mid-mounted ‘Touchtronic 2’ six-speed transmission with electronic shift-by-wire control system.

I was extremely impressed with the brilliant styling in the interior. Featuring luxurious fluted leather seats, evocative GT badging, and a sweeping waterfall fascia with intuitive new AMi II infotainment system. The DB9 GT pushes 403kw in a 6.0-litre V12 engine at 6,750 rpm doing 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds totaling out at 295 km/h. That’s impressive.

The entire car is crafted with attention to every detail, making it so perfect.

Aston Martin GT12

The GT12 is a super lightweight and extreme special edition limited to 100 cars. With a motorsport-derived chassis, aerodynamics and handling, the Aston Martin Vantage GT12 bridges the gap between road and race track driving in stunning fashion.

The track-inspired Vantage GT12 has a 6.0-litre V12 engine which is capable of generating up to 600 PS1, the car weighs in at 100kg less than a standard V12 Vantage S.

The GT12 combines all of Aston Martin’s learning from its years of sports car competition around the globe to produce its most performance focused road-going Vantage.

Comprehensively re-engineered, as well as significantly restyled, the GT3-inspired special edition is lower and wider than any of its siblings in the Vantage family. It brings even more composed cornering thanks to a reduction in lateral load transfer.

The new carbon fibre front wings, carbon fibre bonnet, carbon-fibre door casings, optional carbon fibre roof, optional weight-saving polycarbonate rear window and rear quarter windows make the GT3-derived Vantage much lighter and smarter. The GT12 only weighs 1,565 kgs.

A lot of engineering upgrades has happened, such as the new 600ps V12 roaring engine with a magnesium inlet together with revised geometry, a lightweight magnesium torque tube and a full titanium exhaust system with centre outlets.

Aston Martin gave the beastly GT12 makeover. The interior got a full carbon fibre centre stack and touch-sensitive control array, race-derived carbon fibre sports seats, Alcantara trim and the option of numerous bespoke features.

“Motorsport is in our blood at Aston Martin. The Vantage is the car we campaign in top level sports car racing around the world and so it seems only fitting that we offer an exclusive, limited edition Vantage that expertly fuses our motorsport know-how with our road car prowess.”~Aston Martin CEO Dr Andy Palmer

McLaren 650s Sprint

The 650s Sprint has multiple upgrades for track racing made by McLaren GT. Most of the developments have been made beneath the aerodynamically optimised body, which has greater levels of downforce compared to the road car. After going in the normal 650s is insane, I cant imagine the power in the 650s Sprint.   The Brake Steer system and ProActive Chassis Control have both been refined, and combined with a race-prepared braking system to allow for later braking, improved feel and – with enhanced active aerodynamics – faster cornering speeds. It features a lowered ride height and recalibrated adaptive damping, improving on-track handling. The 19-inch centre-locking racing wheels are fitted with Pirelli slick or wet tyres, and for quick tyre changes, there’s an onboard air-jacking system. Crews will be able to cut down the car’s stationary time in the pits thanks to a larger motorsport fuel ‘bag’ tank with quick-fill connectors.- From McLaren   Inside, the 650S Sprint is a pure racer it has rollcage, a lightweight carbon fibre racing seat and a fire extinguisher system is also installed. An aerodynamic package is offered as an optional extra, it includes a badass carbon fibre rear wing, front splitter and also a lightweight polycarbonate windscreen.   The 650S Sprint can be purchased for R3.1milion directly from McLaren GT.

McLaren 675LT

The lightest, the most powerful and the fastest model in the Super Series. Yes, the almighty McLaren 675LT. This is the kind of car that will leave you speechless.

What does 675LT stand for/mean?

675 – Horsepower (PS)

LT – Long tail, like the F1 GTR Long Tail

The R7 million supercar is no joke. It has 497kw and 700nm of torque which allows this bad boy to do 0-100km/h in a blistering 2.9 seconds. With a twin turbo V8 heart and a top speed of 330km/h this car will absolutely dominate any car that comes in its way. Thanks to its optimised weight of 1230kg and the new suspension system that has been engineered for even sharper responses.

The 50% new airbrake, carbon fiber diffuser, carbon components, extra cooling, titanium exhausts, aerodynamic enhancements and the obsessive attention to detail resulted in thinner glass, saving over 3kg all to help optimise downforce making it one of the most powerful cars to be produced.

Not only is it mind blowingly fast but it also has a very seductive styling. Carbon fiber body work, carbon fiber engine bays, carbon fiber MonoCell and a lot more carbon is used in making the 675LT more amazing. The 4 point harness, roll cage and carbon with alcantara interior looks absolutely stunning. Every panel and every part looks amazing, especially in the detail in the headlight marking 675LT. I personally love the McLaren 675LT. I cant wait to go for a ride in one as Im a huge fan of McLaren.

The McLaren 675LT propels driving enjoyment to an entirely new dimension.
