The Lamborghini Urus was initially showcased nearly 5 years ago as a concept car and thanks to the steady growth in the SUV market it is about to become a reality. I’m not going to lie; this is a car which has certainly tickled my interest. So, here’s a little recap of everything we know.

It’s been a while since a raging bulled donned the SUV form and Lamborghini has been hard at work. The car is rumored to feature a new turbocharged V8 producing upwards of 600 horsepower. There is no doubt that this SUV will be no slouch with the Urus already lapping the Nurburgring. Could the Italians have another record? All this power is most likely to be dealt with through a variant of their ANIMA (Adaptive Network Intelligence Management) system. It should gain a few more “off-road” modes than the standard Corsa, Sport and Strada. Lamborghini have already taken to social media to showcase some artsy footage of the Urus making easy work of desert dunes and snow terrain.

The Urus should, from what we hear, fit right in with some of the big-boy SUVs such as the Range Rover Autobiography and Audi Q7 in terms of size. Initially when the car was dreamt up its designers had given it a slightly smaller form factor like what see in the Macan. This apparently didn’t go down well with many customers which has resulted in the Urus now been sized up and becoming sort of a tribute to the infamous LM002. This means the Urus will be one monster of an SUV.

Interior wise not much is known apart from that it will follow the current Lamborghini design language. Expect to see a lot of hexagons.

In conclusion, the Lamborghini Urus will be a game changer. In theory, it has everything going for it. Who wouldn’t want the joys and thrills of driving a Lamborghini while still being able go grocery shopping without having to worry about the nose lift at every exit? Keep your eyes peeled on the 4th of December for the most practical raging bull ever.
